Joe has been involved in Dragon Boating for over 27 years and is a proud member of the Canberra Griffins. His leadership as President of the Club for several years, along with his service as President of DBACT from 2015 to 2017, reflects his deep commitment to the growth of the sport. As a Level 4 sweep, Joe has expertly steered numerous dragon boats at both local and interstate regattas, including the prestigious Australian Championships.

Joe has been an inspiring coach and mentor, shaping the journeys of countless paddlers. His passion for developing others has led many members to build their own skills, becoming sweeps and coaches themselves.

A vocal advocate of dragon boating, Joe has appeared in local and national media to promote the sport. His forward-thinking approach ensures that dragon boating remains inclusive, safe, accessible and exciting for all who wish to participate, from beginners to elite athletes.
